VILLAGE OF TIVOLI
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WORKSHOP MEETING
SEPTEMBER 10, 2025
A workshop meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tivoli was held on September 10, 2025. The meeting was opened by Mayor Majer at 6:10 PM at the Historic Watts dePeyster Village Hall, Tivoli, New York, 12583.

The next order of business was waste management. The Village of Red Hook is willing to contract with the Village of Tivoli. Firm numbers will be presented at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on September 17, 2025. Contracting with Red Hook Village for trash collection would require the switch to Monday pick up from Tuesday. The board is hosting a forum on October 7, 2025 to discuss with the public and will use that opportunity to collect more questions for a possible newsletter reaching out to residents regarding the change in the trash system and all it entails.
Next the board discussed the noise ordinance violations in the Village and the police response. The mayor contacted the administration at Bard College to communicate that students involved in violations and their families have been contacted by the Village and police.
The board discussed Street Painting Festival and their process of gathering volunteers for the event, then they discussed the Tree Committee, the availability of funds, and fundraising opportunities.
On a motion by Deputy Mayor Shilling, seconded by Trustee Imboden, the board voted in favor of changing to Smith Benefits Group from Marshall and Sterling for the employees’ health insurance broker. Roll call: Majer aye; Shilling aye; Baldino absent; Imboden aye; Mangieri aye.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Sarah Imboden
