VILLAGE OF TIVOLI BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

December 21, 2022

 

A meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held on December 21, 2022 at the Historic Watts DePeyster Hall, Tivoli, NY. Deputy Mayor Majer opened the regular meeting at 7:02 PM.

Present: Deputy Mayor Majer, Trustee Ezrati, Trustee Baldino and Trustee Mangieri

 

Public Present: Masha Zabara, Lisa Schwarzbaum, Michele Robinson-Greig, and Donna Matthews

 

Others Present: Christine Chale, Village Attorney; Brandee Nelson of Tighe & Bond

The Mayor asked all present at the meeting to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

The Clerk’s report included:

  • 500 Trash tags sold
  • Two payrolls were processed by Village Treasurer, Bonnie Day
    • Deputy Clerk Tyler continues to assist in the Clerk’s Office, and supports the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals at their meetings
    • The Village Clerk’s Office will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022 and Monday, January 2, 2023 to observe Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
    • There was an overwhelming response to Tivoli Fire Company partnering with the US Marines and their Toys for Tots drive. Many thanks to all who donated!!
    • On behalf of myself and colleagues in the Clerk’s Office, wishes to all for safe and happy holidays!!

 

On a motion by Trustee Baldino, seconded by Trustee Ezrati, the November 16 Regular Meeting Minutes, December 8 Special Meeting Minutes, and December 14 Workshop Minutes were approved, all in favor.

 

On a motion by Trustee Mangieri and seconded by Trustee Ezrati, the Treasurer’s Report for Abstract #7 totaling $253,431.02 was approved. Trustee Ezrati moved that the bills be paid for the abstract as presented, Trustee Mangieri seconded the motion, all in favor.

Zoning Report

Regular Business:

 

Brandee Nelson of Tighe & Bond made a presentation and provided information regarding the Tivoli Memorial Park Soil Assessment. Brandee supplied each of the members of the Board with a report, and reviewed the report with them. Deputy Mayor Majer and Trustee Ezrati had a few questions regarding the presentation; and Chris Chale, Village Attorney, did as well.

 

RESOLUTION Budget Modifications; motion made by Trustee Ezrati, seconded by Trustee Baldino; all in favor.

 

ACCEPT Tivoli Fire Company Officers Listing for 2023; motion made by Trustee Ezrati, seconded by Trustee Mangieri; all in favor.

 

Trustee Reports:

 

Trustee Ezrati

 

Trustee Ezrati reported that this would be her final meeting, and that she was resigning as of December 31, 2022. She provided a synopsis of all of the projects she was a part of during her 16 years as a Board member.

 

She thanked the Engineering and Legal teams for their support.

 

Trustee Ezrati went on to highlight a few of the biggest projects, as well as thanking the Treasurer for the Village’s consistent fiscal stability.

 

Trustee Baldino

 

Court Report: Trustee Baldino read the contents of the report which was provided by Court Clerk McGarry; $2,028.00 was remitted to the Office of the State Comptroller. Trustee Baldino also thanked Trustee Ezrati for her time on the Board.

 

Trustee Mangieri

 

Trustee Mangieri had no personal report however, she did thank Trustee Ezrati for her years of work on the Board, especially for the Street Painting Festival.

 

Deputy Mayor Majer

 

Deputy Mayor Majer thanked Trustee Ezrati and spoke of her qualities which she has enjoyed, and mentioned she has thoroughly enjoyed working with her.

 

Deputy Mayor Majer read a statement that had been provided by Mayor Griffith in thanks to Trustee Ezrati. Included in this statement, Mayor Griffith announced the appointment of Bill Shilling who will fill Trustee Ezrati’s seat as of January 1, 2023.

 

Deputy Mayor Majer mentioned Trustee Ezrati’s history with the LOSAP program.

 

Also, Deputy Mayor Majer spoke of the wonderful Winterfest the Village sponsored just recently. She thanked Tivoli Fire Company and the Tivoli Free Library. She thanked the donors for their support, along with Andrea Rhodes for her assistance with the posters, and finally shared thanks to the farm for bringing the horses, and a special thanks to Santa !!!

 

Deputy Mayor Majer wished everyone Happy Holidays, and wished everyone a great new year ! Also, she had all attendees join in a Hip Hip Hooray for Trustee Susan Ezrati.

On a motion by Trustee Baldino and seconded by Trustee Mangieri, the meeting was adjourned at 7:47 PM, all in favor.
