The Village of Tivoli is a 1.8 square mile community on the banks of the majestic Hudson River with spectacular views of the famous Catskill Mountains. Established as a port on the Hudson in 1795, the Village was incorporated in 1872 and today is a tight-knit community of 1100 souls who live among natural beauty and rich architectural heritage.
Tivoli is a friendly, residential village of tree-lined streets and handsome homes. With a vibrant business core of fine restaurants, cozy cafes, an art gallery, a first-rate theater, colorful shops and a classic general store, Tivoli is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll, taking in some culture and settling down to a fine evening meal.
The Village center is one mile from the wide waters of the beautiful Hudson and one block from our main street is the expansive Memorial Park with a playground, basketball court, softball field and our lovely community garden.
But more than any of this, the best thing about this village is its residents; people who care about their neighbors and their community. Those who live here know well why we like to say “Tivoli” backwards, if you come visit you may say it too: “i-lov-iT !”
