Questions, Concerns about the Water System?

Since the severe water main break of January 8th, there have been many questions about where to get information relating to water service in Tivoli. This notice is to help you direct any questions and concerns you may have to the proper place.

As of July 2019 the Water and Sewer systems are being maintained and operated by the Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority.  They are responsible for everything from billing to repairing water main breaks and flushing hydrants. The Village of Tivoli and the Village Department of Public Works are no longer performing any of this work.

All users of the water system are encouraged to sign up for the DCWWA’s alert service. Link is below:

Call to Order / Determination of Quorum
The meeting, held at the Historic Watts dePeyster Hall, was opened at 7:04 pm and a quorum
was determined to be present for the conduct of business.

New Business
Certificate of Demolition – 84 North Road: Chair Billeci stated that he and Zoning
Enforcement Officer Steve Cole walked through this house and that the ZEO recommends it be
torn down. Both Chair Billeci and Mr. Cole think that a public hearing should be held. The
ZEO will meet with Chair Billeci regarding the procedures that will need to be followed by the
applicant prior to the tear down. The Board will compose a resolution detailing these steps. The
applicant wants to leave the driveway and the garage and still call it vacant land. A long SEQR
form will need to be filled out by the applicant. A discussion followed. Ginger Grab moved to
set a public hearing for September 22, 2014 at 7:00 pm. John Hallstein seconded. All in favor.
Motion carried.
The Board reviewed the minutes from the July 28, 2014 Planning Board meeting. Donna
Matthews moved to approve the minutes as presented. Ginger Grab seconded. All in favor.
Motion carried.
